Note for my Facebook friends and followers: there is a whole world of amazing bloggers out there and these awards are a chance for them to help newer bloggers become better known and also to give a nod to some serious talent. Please feel free to skip this post. Thank you so much for your patience!
I feel very honoured to have been nominated for the Mystery Blogger Award! My deepest and sincerest thanks to Tales from the Mind of Kristian for nominating me for this award. I do hope you will check out his blog: I enjoy his writing very, very much…

What the Award is About

“The Mystery Blogger is an award for A-MAZING bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates; it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging and they do it with so much love and passion.”

The Rules:

  1. Put the award logo/image on your blog.
  2. List the rules.
  3. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  4. Mention the creator of the award and provide a link as well – Okoto Enigma https://www.okotoenigmasblog.com/
  5. Tell your readers 3 things about yourself.
  6. You have to nominate 10 people.
  7. Notify your nominees by commenting on their blog.
  8. Ask your nominees any 5 questions of your choice: with one weird or funny question (specify).

Three Things About Myself

  1. I can emit an ear-piercing whistle: really startles people when this fifty-something woman whistles at a concert or a show – not too ladylike…
  2. I hate to cook. But I would gladly do the clean up…like, every single day of my life…if I never had to make a meal.
  3. I love miniatures – they absolutely fascinate me. I am not very crafty, however – I am still working on a doll house (kit) that I started almost 30 years ago.

Questions From Tales From the Mind of Kristian:

  1. Would you prefer to Run like a Cheetah, Fly like an Eagle or Swim like a dolphin?

I am torn with this one: I am afraid of heights but want to lean toward flying like an eagle. I have been dreaming that I could fly since I was a child but interestingly, the older I have become, the lower I fly in my dreams. Now I can only just skim the earth, maybe 4 or 5 feet up. Good fodder for a therapist, I should think…

  1. Would you prefer to be able to Paint like Picasso, write like Shakespeare or Sing like Sinatra (Frankie Boy, Old blue eyes)?

As a fledgling writer, you would think I would opt to be able to write like Shakespeare but oddly, that one doesn’t appeal to me. I think I like writing like…me. I do love, love, love to sing but will never win any talent contests. I think I would choose that one. Being a woman, I will assume that I would get to sing like a woman and not Frank Sinatra…? Perhaps like Linda Ronstadt or Etta James?

  1. If you could win a lifetime supply of something (not cash) what would it be?

Gas or groceries – that would be AWESOME…

  1. Name a song you like from the year you were born.

I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You, by Elvis Presley (1962). I used to sing that one to my daughter every night before bed. Now it always makes me cry because she is so far away and I miss those days so much… Here is a nice version by Twenty-One Pilots

  1. What is your favourite character from a film?

Only one??? If I could only give one award for the best performance of all time it would be to Meryl Streep for her performance in Sophie’s Choice. No one else comes close…

My Questions

  1. Are you generally a by-the-book type of person or more of a rule breaker?
  2. What is the funniest (or worst, best, saddest…) movie you have ever seen?
  3. What is your quirkiest (or strangest) habit?
  4. Besides your loved ones and your pets, what would you take with you if you only had 5 minutes to leave your house?
  5. Jelly beans or chips (crisps)?

My Nominees (sorry – I am usually a by-the-book type but this time I have cheated and only chosen three names):

  1. This Made Me Smile Today (https://thismademesmiletoday.wordpress.com/
  2. Bone and Silver (https://boneandsilver.com/)
  3. Timeless Classics: Poetry by Ana Daksina (https://timelessclassics.wordpress.com/about/ )

To my nominees: if awards aren’t your ‘thing’, absolutely no pressure to participate. And if you prefer to simply post a few answers in the comments section, that would be okay too…

I write what I feel. And I rarely know exactly what I feel until I write. I have lived long enough to have known many joys and many sorrows. I have made many mistakes; I have forgiven myself for a few… I have learned that there are lessons in every step of this journey, if we only take the time to pay attention… I hope you will feel free to pick and choose the stories that resonate for you…
